As early as 1900, the Skeberg area began to develop as a major destination for tourists, and fairly soon, tourists also began purchasing summer cottages in the village.

As time went on, many artists and musicians fell in love with the villages of Skeberg. These included Johan Nordling,  Sven-Olov Sandberg, Thor Modéen, Ulla Billqvist and Nils Perne.  Ingrid Bergman also visited this village.

Historic Skeberg is also the site of many kinds of activities, both in winter and summer. The wonderful natural surroundings offer unique opportunities for exercise and recreation.

Every year, the Skibbârg Run is held, and attracts runners and other participants of all ages.

Lake Djursjön is part of the main drainage basin of the River Dalaälven, and has an area of 4.67 square kilometres, and offers fine perch, roach, whitefish and vendace fishing.

Only 20 minutes away by car, you’ll find Lake Siljan, the Gem of Dalarna, with its sandy beaches and marina, as well as the centre of Leksand, which offers fine dining, shops and cafés. In addition, there are great ski areas close by.
